The Cordillera Metro District (CMD) is a quasi-municipal corporation and political subdivision of the State of Colorado that operates as a Special District under Colorado statute. CMD provides public services and improvements in Cordillera. CMD functions include the operation and maintenance of all public facilities and infrastructure within the District, which includes 7,000 acres of property and more than 40 miles of roads, shoulders, and guard rails. CMD manages and maintains District landscaping, water features, ponds, streetlights, and signage. CMD also provides plowing, snow removal, weed control and pest control programs; and provides public safety services including managing gate access, traffic issues, and wildlife matters.
