An Evening with Father of the Internet and Chief Internet Evangelist Vinton Cerf
Tuesday, August 13, 2024 (6:00 PM - 7:30 PM) (MDT)
Description
Since co-designing the initial TCP/IP protocols and the architecture of the Internet in the mid 1970s (earning him the title the “Father of the Internet”), Vint Cerf has never stopped innovating and developing the future of the internet, including now working on Interplanetary Internet together with NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory, on IPv6, and Google’s Disability Alliance and accessible product design.
He has also never ceased to work on internet policy, on Cyber Threat Advisory Boards, and on promoting wide availability to networks. In his role as Chief Internet Evangelist for Google, he predicts how technology will impact future society, including AI and the environment, and he is active in globally advocating for the internet’s evolving role and governance. Come learn about the vision for the future of the internet from the man who started it all, one of People Magazine’s “Most Intriguing People,” Vint Cerf.
