Vilar Performing Arts Center presents free outdoor concert in Eagle with Carlos y Charlos

Community News

Eagle, Colo., August 19, 2026 – The Vail Valley Foundation‘s Vilar Performing Arts Center invites the community to close out the summer with a free concert on the Brush Creek Pavilion lawn in Eagle. The performance will take place at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 10 and will feature Los Angeles-based Norteño and Mexican music trio Carlos y Charlos.

The concert is the latest addition to the Vilar’s community outreach and engagement efforts. The goal is to bring the performing arts to audiences who may not otherwise make it to a show inside the Vilar’s Eskenazi Meyers Theatre.

“The Vilar’s work has never been limited to what happens inside our theater, and this performance is the perfect example of that,” said Cameron Morgan, Executive Director of the Vilar Performing Arts Center. “By bringing this performance into our community, we’re hoping to remove some of the biggest barriers that keep many families from experiencing live performing arts: cost, distance, and travel time. Meeting our community members where they are is one of the most important things we can do as a nonprofit arts organization.”

Attendees who arrive early can enjoy roaming circus performers from Spoon Circus, a nonprofit social circus organization that provides accessible circus arts education, community workshops, and inclusive play spaces globally.

Seating is first-come, first-served. Food and refreshments will be available for purchase courtesy of Flavor Stop Food Truck.  Coolers and outside food are welcome, and guests are encouraged to bring folding chairs and picnic blankets. Alcohol is not permitted at this event.

In the event of rain, the concert will take place inside Brush Creek Pavilion.

The Vilar hopes to present similar free performances in other Eagle River Valley communities at the close of future summer and winter seasons.

Expanding arts access across the valley

The free concert is one piece of a broader effort to keep cost and distance from standing between local families and live performing arts. Each year, the Vilar distributes thousands of free tickets to local individuals and organizations through its Community Arts Access program and presents STARS (Support the Arts Reaching Students), which brings nationally touring artists and companies to thousands of students in the area for free.

Carlos y Charlos will take part in that work as well. The morning after their concert in Eagle, the trio will perform a free assembly for local students through STARS in Schools, the classroom-based arm of the program that brings performances and arts education directly to schools. Details about the in-school assembly will be shared closer to the date.
