Valley View is pleased to welcome Eric Jernigan, MD, a dedicated general surgeon, to Valley View’s Roaring Fork Surgical team. 

Dr. Jernigan joins the most experienced team in the region including General and Trauma Surgeon Brad Nichol, MD and General Surgeon Randall Ross, MD, each with more than 30 years of practice. Roaring Fork Surgical, which joined Valley View earlier in 2024, offers a patient-centric approach, guided by the values of safety, quality and community. It offers a comprehensive range of services including colon and rectal cancer surgery, hernia repairs, laparoscopic cholecystectomy, anorectal surgery, breast cancer surgery and more. With office locations in Eagle, Glenwood Springs, Silt and Willits, Roaring Fork Surgical is backed by the Valley View network of care, including its CMS 5-star-rated hospital.  

At Roaring Fork Surgical, Dr. Jernigan specializes in a wide range of procedures, including operations related to trauma, the gastrointestinal tract, hernias, abdominal wall and breast reconstruction. He is particularly adept at minimally invasive techniques, including robotic-assisted laparoscopic surgery using the advanced Da Vinci Xi robot.

Dr. Jernigan completed his undergraduate studies at Georgetown University before earning his medical degree from the University of North Carolina School of Medicine. He refined his surgical skills during his residency at Lenox Hill Hospital in Manhattan, where he was honored as Resident Teacher of the Year for multiple consecutive years.

Dr. Jernigan grew up in Crested Butte, Colorado, and is passionate about the great outdoors. In his free time, he enjoys fly fishing, hiking, mountain biking and skiing.
