Valley View, an independent, not-for-profit health system based in Glenwood Springs, is proud to announce it has received the 2023 Perinatal Luminary Award for the Colorado AIM: Substance Use Disorder Collaborative (CO AIM: SUD) from Colorado Perinatal Care Quality Collaborative (CPCQC). CPCQC honored Valley View with a celebratory luncheon for Valley View on Monday, March 4.

CPCQC supports participating care teams in implementing the Alliance for Innovation on Maternal Health (AIM) patient safety bundle for Care for Pregnant and Postpartum People with Substance Use Disorder. CO AIM: SUD aims to prevent and eliminate suffering and maternal mortality related to substance use and perinatal mood and anxiety disorders by focusing on the implementation of universal screening, brief intervention, and referral to treatment in labor and delivery units. 

Valley View was recognized as a Perinatal Luminary because it stood out in its focus on its patients and passion for this work and is leading the way for the safest healthiest outcomes for Colorado’s pregnant and postpartum people, infants and their families.

CPCQC is a statewide nonprofit network of clinical teams, experts and stakeholders, including patients and families, working to address gaps in care, spread best practices, reduce variation and optimize resources to improve the health of pregnant and postpartum people, infants, and their families.
