Story of the Month: Building the Future Together with Peak Plumbing, Heating, and Cooling
At Peak Plumbing, Heating and Cooling, growth has always been part of our story. As we look toward the future, one of the most exciting developments on our horizon is the launch of our Peak Apprenticeship Program, set to begin in 2026. This initiative reflects our commitment to strengthening not just our company, but the trades industry as a whole. With an aging workforce and fewer people entering vocational careers, the nation faces a projected shortage of skilled technicians. Instead of waiting for those challenges to impact us or the communities we serve, we are choosing to step forward and create a sustainable solution.
The trades built this country, they keep our homes functioning, our businesses running, and our communities thriving. But as interest in trade careers declines, the need for new, well-trained professionals becomes more urgent. Our apprenticeship program is designed to help fill that gap, offering hands-on training, a structured learning pathway, and real opportunities for motivated individuals to build a meaningful, long-term career.
This initiative began with a vision from Mike, the owner of Peak PHC. He saw clearly that preparing for the future meant investing in people today, and he imagined a program that would not only grow our workforce but also give back to an industry that has powered this country for generations. Bringing that vision to life is Mary-Kathryn, who is spearheading the process with incredible dedication. She is doing the heavy lifting, building out the structure, securing accreditation, ensuring compliance, and shaping this program into something that will last for years to come. But what truly sets this upcoming apprenticeship program apart is the heart behind it. We are committed to making it a community-supported effort, drawing on the expertise within our own company as well as outside. Seasoned technicians, men and women who have spent years mastering their craft, will help train the next wave of apprentices. Alongside them, our own team members will step up to teach courses, mentor new talent, and share the knowledge that has shaped their own careers. It will be a program built by the community, supported by Peak PHC, and powered by people who genuinely care about the future of the trades.
When the program launches in 2026, it will represent more than just a new initiative. It will symbolize our commitment to bridging the gap in a struggling industry, supporting our community, and helping keep this country moving forward. By developing new talent and nurturing the next generation of skilled professionals, we are making a long-term investment in our company, our industry, and the future of the trades.
