Looking Forward to Summer

VVP Press Releases Community News

Well, it's been a tough year. The 2025–26 ski season is wrapping up earlier than any of us planned for. Beaver Creek is closing two weeks ahead of schedule on March 29, and Vail's April 19 target date is in real doubt as conditions deteriorate. Colorado snowpack hit its lowest level since the late 1980s, skier visits dropped 20%, and the whole valley felt it. Hotels, restaurants, shops, and transportation companies all navigated what Vail Resorts CEO Rob Katz called "the most challenging season across the Rockies we have ever experienced." Reduced international travel only added to the pressure.

But if there's one thing this valley knows how to do, it's how to adapt!

Wrapping Up the 2025/26 Season and Looking Ahead

Despite the tough winter, the valley has a strong summer ahead. Colorado's sesquicentennial, 150 years of statehood, is expected to draw additional domestic visitors, and the programming across the valley is stacked. The Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater has announced a packed lineup featuring Trey Anastasio, O.A.R. with Gavin DeGraw, Trombone Shorty, Alison Krauss, Ray LaMontagne, Greensky Bluegrass, Ziggy Marley, and Chicago, alongside the free Hot Summer Nights Tuesday concert series. The Vail Dance Festival opens its 38th season on July 31. The Vail Farmers Market returns for its 26th year with over 135 tents across 16 Sundays. Add Bravo! Vail, hiking, mountain biking, and gondola rides, and guests have every reason to visit.

The summer is going to bring a wave of events, performances, and visitors to the valley, and at Blue Sky Limo, we've made providing convenient private transportation to these events a core part of our service model. Our event transportation service covers venues throughout the valley, the Ford Amphitheater, Vilar Performing Arts Center, Donovan Pavilion, and more, with door-to-door luxury SUV service so guests can enjoy the evening without worrying about parking or navigating crowded village streets. We're hoping to see strong bookings this summer and are ready to help make it a great season for everyone.

Going to Red Rocks

For the longest time, Vail Valley residents and guests didn't have a convenient, reliable way to enjoy shows at Red Rocks Amphitheatre — one of the most iconic concert venues in the world. It's a beautiful drive, but it's far. The return trip on I-70 after dark isn't anyone's idea of a good time, and parking in that canyon on a concert night is its own ordeal. Last summer, we launched our Red Rocks car service, and it's been a great success. We provide transportation from Eagle County and Summit County directly to the shows, with the driver staying on-site and bringing everyone home after the encore.

The 2026 Red Rocks season is shaping up to be even bigger: Paul Simon, Rod Stewart, Brandi Carlile, David Guetta, John Mulaney, and over a hundred more shows running April through October. We also run a dedicated shuttle service from Denver to Red Rocks for guests staying in the metro area or flying in specifically for a show.

Checking Out the Casinos at Black Hawk

Black Hawk's casinos are world-famous: Ameristar, Monarch, Saratoga, Lady Luck - and the summer months bring an especially strong calendar of gaming, live entertainment, and dining. But for guests staying in the mountains, getting there and back has never been easy. Our Black Hawk casino shuttle changes that. We offer door-to-door service with flexible return scheduling through our 24/7 dispatch, so guests can have a great night at the casinos and return the same evening or the following day without missing out on everything else Colorado has to offer.

Expanding to Boulder and Rocky Mountain National Park

We're also launching new service routes this summer as part of our continued growth. We're excited to begin offering rides to Boulder and Rocky Mountain National Park, two destinations that guests and partners have been asking about for a while. Boulder is about two hours from Vail and offers a completely different side of Colorado. The Flatirons, Pearl Street dining, craft breweries, and a walkable university-town atmosphere that draws visitors from all over the world. Rocky Mountain National Park is one of the most visited national parks in the country. Both destinations will be accessible to guests vacationing in the Vail Valley who want to explore beyond the resort, and directly from Denver Airport for visitors flying in.

There's a lot to be excited about this coming summer. At Blue Sky Limo, we're hoping to bounce back strong from a disappointing winter!

Partnering Through the Off-Season

That said, before summer kicks in, there's the off-season. And after a winter like the one we just had, the stretch between closing day and Memorial Day is going to hit harder than usual. Every hotel, every restaurant, every tour operator in this valley knows what that feels like.

Here's what we know: guests still come to the valley during the shoulder season. They're travelers who want the mountain experience without peak-season pricing, and they're exactly the kind of visitors who keep our local economy moving when we need it most. The challenge has always been making the valley easy to get to and get around during those quieter weeks.

That's where we think there's an opportunity. We're offering preferential transportation rates to hospitality partners (hotels, vacation rental managers, concierge services, tour operators, property management companies) specifically for the off-season. If you're putting together shoulder-season packages for your guests, we want to be the transportation piece that makes those packages work. Coordinated airport transfers, day trips to Red Rocks or Rocky Mountain National Park, custom group arrangements, whatever helps get visitors to our mountains between seasons.

We're all stronger when Valley businesses work together. If this is something worth exploring, reach out. We're ready to build something that works for both sides.
