Gypsum, CO— Core Transit is ready to launch the winter schedule, helping you get where you need to go with more convenience, more stops, and more express options. The new schedule starts December 1, but starting today, we’re giving you early access to the full route and time details so you can plan your trips ahead!
For those returning to Eagle County this winter, you may notice some exciting changes on the road. Core Transit, the new face of regional transportation, is here to enhance your journey. As part of a broader evolution in local transit, Core Transit brings the same routes you rely on, along with a renewed mission to provide everyone with user-friendly transportation solutions that are safe, rewarding, and reliable. With fare-free rides on most routes, amazing operators, and a “people-first” approach, Core Transit is dedicated to giving you a welcoming, accessible, dependable, and rewarding experience as you travel through our beautiful region.
Fare-Free Fun All Winter Long!
We know you love fare-free rides, and we’re excited to keep offering them on most routes this winter! Whether you’re commuting or adventuring in the mountains, just hop on and enjoy the ride—no fare required.
But About Those Fare Zones...
If your journey takes you to or from stops in Gypsum, including the Eagle County Regional Airport (EGE), or Leadville, fares are still required. For a quick and convenient way to pay, simply use our Mobile Fares app to purchase fares on the go.
Winter Schedule Highlights
We’re gearing up for winter with some awesome service upgrades! Check out the exciting changes below and click on each route to view the upcoming schedule and plan your next adventure!
Highway 6 East & Highway 6 West
We’ve added:
- More buses at peak times
- More express routes to and from places like Walmart, Vail, and Edwards
- More shadow buses as needed because our buses are becoming more popular than Taylor Swift —and this winter, we are Ready for It!
- First Bus departs Lake Creek at 5:00 a.m. which is 40 minutes earlier than last year!
- Last bus departs VTC at 01:05 a.m., which is almost 2 hours later than last year, and once it completes the HWY 6 route. It will then continue to the Valley Route stops through Gypsum.
Valley Route East & Valley Route West
We’ve added:
- More buses at peak times
- More express routes from Eagle – some of which now include sylvan lake and 5th & wall
- More shadow buses because we want you to arrive at your destination on-time and be comfortable
- New stops on some routes at Chamonix (Conoco) in West Vail and Cascade Village
- First bus departs Gypsum at 5:24 a.m.
- Last dedicated Valley Route bus departs VTC at 11:20 p.m. (PRO TIP: the 1:05am HWY 6 bus will also continue to the Valley Route Stops through Gypsum)
We’ve added:
- Extra stops at peak times at employee housing stops in Avon
- We’ll continue to run a bus every 20 minutes during peak hours and every 30 minutes between 11:30 a.m. and 3 p.m.
Minturn Route & Leadville Route
- Still holding strong with the same level of service as this summer.
