Catch the Summer Vibes with Core Transit’s New Summer Schedule Starting April 14
Summer is calling, and Core Transit is answering with a new summer schedule to keep you moving all season long. Starting April 14, we’re rolling out more trips, better connections, and plenty of reasons to hop on board. Whether you’re chasing mountain views, commuting to work, or just living your best summer life, take the easy route with us and make every trip a smooth journey!
This summer, we’re keeping it fare-free on most routes because we believe your adventures should be epic, not expensive. And because we know you love a little extra time to map out your plans, we’re sharing this schedule earlier than ever.
Did you know that choosing the bus over your car cuts your emissions by a staggering 80%? Yep, riding with Core Transit isn’t just good for your wallet; it’s good for the planet, too. Plus, it’s a chance to kick back, relax, and let someone else do the driving while you take in the gorgeous mountain views or catch up on your favorite podcast. Roll with us, and you’ll reap the benefits: no paid parking, no gas money, less wear and tear on your car, and plenty of productivity while you ride.
What’s New and Exciting This Summer? Let’s Break It Down!
Highway 6 Routes East & West
- Westbound (Vail to Edwards): For all the night owls and late shifters out there, we’re keeping that oh-so-popular 1:05 a.m. trip from the Vail Transportation Center (VTC) so you can get home safely after a long shift or an evening out.
- Eastbound (Edwards to Vail): We’ve added extra trips throughout the day to facilitate smoother connections, because why should your day have limits?
Dotsero riders, this one’s for you!
- Eastbound (Dotsero/Gypsum to Vail): We’ve added two more eastbound trips from Dotsero so you can get where you need to go without the wait.
- Westbound (Vail to Gypsum/Dotsero): We’ve added an extra midday trip to Dotsero, because your summer plans deserve a little more freedom to roam. And remember – the 1:05am Highway 6 bus from Vail continues all the way to Gypsum to get you safely home.
- Double the frequency! That’s right; we’ve doubled the number of daily trips to Leadville. Whether you are commuting, exploring, or just enjoying the mountain vibe, we’ve got your ride covered!
Reminder about Gypsum and Leadville Fares:
Don’t forget, if you're traveling to or from Gypsum or Leadville (including the EGE Airport), fares are required. And as one more friendly reminder, we’ve said goodbye to cash onboard! Make sure you’re prepared by using our Mobile Fares app, purchasing a loadable card, or getting a printed ticket at our Vail Transportation Center office or Maintenance Service Center office in Gypsum.
- Five extra trips daily! Minturn, we see you. With five additional trips every day, getting around town (and beyond) just got a whole lot easier. Oh, and pro tip—this route takes you all the way up to Red Cliff, so you can keep exploring without missing a beat!
No BC/Vail Express for Summer
- BC/Vail Express: It’s time for a summer siesta! This route is taking a well-deserved summer break but will be back in action for Winter 2025-26. Don’t worry; we’ll keep the summer fun rolling with all the other routes.
“These summer schedule improvements show we’re ready to listen to what our riders need and make changes to improve our safe, reliable, and just plain awesome service,” said Tanya Allen, Executive Director of Core Transit. “With more trips, better connections, and the same great service you know and love, this summer’s schedule is ready to help you make the most of the season.”
So, what are you waiting for? Grab your sunscreen, pack your sense of adventure, and let Core Transit take you where the summer vibes are.
