What inspired you to start your business or organization? We saw an opportunity to fill a gap in the local dining scene by creating an elevated-casual restaurant that pairs approachable hospitality with a thoughtfully curated menu. Our goal was to build a concept that boasts seasonal, fresh ingredients and a predominately scratch kitchen, offering guests an exceptional dining experience in a relaxed, welcoming setting.
How would you describe your business in one sentence? CAYA ("Come As You Are") is an elevated-casual, community-focused restaurant and bar that pairs globally inspired, seasonal dishes with a music-themed beverage program in a welcoming mountain setting.
What’s your favorite part of being part of this community? We love the authentic, relaxed rhythm of the people who live and work in Vail Valley. This community loves the outdoors and deeply appreciates high-quality, thoughtful food. We intentionally built CAYA to match that energy by creating a flexible space where locals can just as easily walk in for a quick lunch in their outdoor gear or settle in for a special night out with friends.
What’s one word you hope customers associate with your business? Welcoming! While we put incredible care and technical execution into our globally inspired scratch kitchen and handcrafted beverage program, our ultimate goal is for CAYA to feel like an effortless neighborhood gathering place. No matter who you are or where you're coming from, we want you to feel entirely at home here.If you had to describe your business as a hiking trail or ski run, which would you use and why? We would describe CAYA as a classic, rolling ski run on a sunny afternoon. It is approachable and fun for everyone, but it offers unexpected variety and great rhythm.
What’s something people should know about your team or company culture? Our company culture is centered on community and true collaboration. We intentionally built a team of passionate people who share our commitment to exceptional service and fresh, scratch cooking. Every person on our staff reflects a welcoming, hospitality-first spirit that ensures guests feel comfortable from the second they walk through the door
