Habitat for Humanity Vail Valley (HFHVV) is seeking a talented professional to serve as its Mortgage Services Coordinator in support of its mission to partner with local families to build strength, stability and self-reliance through shelter.
As a member of the administrative team, the Mortgage Services Coordinator is responsible for assisting Habitat for Humanity Partner Families (families selected to purchase a Habitat home) through the home buying process; including qualifying for a home loan and navigating and executing the closing process.
Job Duties
Mortgage Closings
Complete and maintain courses to be a certified Qualified Loan Originator (QLO)
Establish and execute a process to ensure Partner Families continue to qualify for the home loan on a quarterly basis
Responsible for the creation of the payment breakdown spreadsheet for Partner Families.
Assist families in completing HUD certified homeowner readiness course
Facilitate application of down payment assistance for Partner Families – includes both pre- and post-closing requirements
Explain loan details and monthly payment to Partner Families by providing documentation and explanation in preparation for closing
Provide oversight of and serve as the contact person for loan servicing company, AmeriNat
Onboard loans to AmeriNat or service loans in-house in conjunction with office manager
Field all homeowner questions related to their loans and the servicing of the loan including loans held by other parties (FirstBank, CHFA)
Serve as the point of contact for Habitat of Colorado for loans held by the Colorado Housing and Finance Authority and FirstBank
Coordinate all aspects of the closing process
Loan Sales
Prepare and package mortgages to sell and swap them to the Colorado Housing and Finance Authority/bank partners as part of our accelerated asset recovery strategy
Coordinate completion and gathering of additional documentation for loan sales with Partner Families
Assist in transferring the loan to the new servicer with little disruption to the Partner Family
Grants
Assist Development Coordinator in obtaining documents from Partner Families for grant purposes
Required Competencies

Detailed oriented, ability to check for errors and inaccuracies and willingness to ask clarifying questions
Ability to efficiently and effectively organize work and time. Ability to work in an office with frequent interruptions. Must be a self-starter.
Applicants must have a high school diploma, college degree preferred
Applicants must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for occasional travel within Eagle County
Ability to attend after-hours or off-site meetings as needed on an occasional basis
Preferred competencies:
Bilingual (Spanish and English) Advanced English speaker with advanced English reading and writing skills
Knowledge of mortgage lending and mortgage regulations
Experience working in an office environment
Problem-solving and basic troubleshooting skills
Basic computer skills, familiarity with Microsoft Office, email, basic excel spreadsheets
Previous non-profit experience
Demonstrated planning and organizational skills

Compensation & Benefits
This is a full-time, salaried position based at our affiliate office in Avon, CO. The salary range for this position is currently $54,340-$67,980 per year. Initial compensation is determined based on the successful applicant’s qualifications and experience. Benefits offered include health insurance, life insurance, retirement plan with 6% employer match, up to 6 weeks of vacation, holiday, and sick time, paid medical leave and more.
