We’re looking for a Communications Specialist to lead our public engagement and communications efforts—someone who can translate complex information into clear, accessible messages, serve as our Public Information Officer, and help shape the public perception of one of Colorado’s most vibrant mountain communities.

 Hiring Range: $69,600 - $87,000

Key Responsibilities:

As our Communications Specialist, you will be the voice of the Town—internally and externally. You will:

• Lead the Town’s communication and branding strategy across digital, print, and social media platforms.
• Serve as the Public Information Officer, managing media relations, crisis communications, and public messaging.
• Engage the community through outreach campaigns, storytelling, public meetings, and content that inspires civic pride and participation.
• Support Town-wide initiatives, collaborating across departments to ensure consistent, timely, and impactful communication.
• Manage the Town’s websites and digital presence, bringing new energy to how we communicate with our community.
• Monitor public sentiment, anticipate responses, and tailor messaging to promote transparency and trust.

What We’re Looking For:

We’re looking for someone with a heart for public service and a head for communications. The ideal candidate will have:

• A degree in Communications, Public Relations, Public Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 2–5 years of experience in public and community engagement—government experience is a plus.
• Exceptional writing, speaking, and editing skills.
• A strategic mindset with hands-on skills in digital communication, media relations, and brand management.
• Cultural competence and a commitment to inclusive, equitable outreach.
• Bonus: Spanish bilingual fluency (written and spoken)!
