POSITION SUMMARY


The Annual Giving & Events Director is responsible for the leadership, management and execution of Roundup River Ranch’s annual giving program and special events primarily in the Vail Valley, Denver and Front Range regions. Reporting to and working with the VP of Philanthropy, the Director of Annual Giving & Events will play a vital role in growing philanthropic revenue. The successful candidate will be an experienced fundraising professional who is self-motivated, entrepreneurial, and eager to take ownership of critical duties and team leadership while managing and cultivating a portfolio of individual donors. 


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS


Annual Giving Duties:


Responsible for the management and implementation of the organization’s annual giving program that includes grassroots giving, third-party events, and direct response campaigns


Partner with the VP of Philanthropy to establish long term goals and objectives, to strategize annual campaign and other fundraising efforts.


Successfully advance and grow a portfolio of active donor prospects using a ‘moves management’ approach


Develop and implement comprehensive and diverse grassroots giving programs that complement the organization’s major gifts fundraising efforts.


Actively solicit, cultivate and steward organizations, new and existing individual and corporate donors through annual appeals, events, and campaigns.


Manage the Annual Fund Team to ensure a cohesive and collaborative approach to achieving departmental goals.


Partner with the Marketing team to develop strategies and execute digital fundraising and communication plans to attract and retain donors.


Develop and execute a monthly giving program.


Event Related Duties:


Collaborate with the VP of Philanthropy, Director of Philanthropy Denver/Eagle County and Signature Events Third-Party Contractor to oversee and ensure successful execution of our growing portfolio  signature events.  


Take a lead role in securing third-party event management and external service provider partnerships.


Plan and execute cultivation events in partnership with the development team throughout Eagle County, Denver and Front Range locations.


Lead signature event committees to plan events, solicit auction items and sponsorships and ensure the overall success of events.


Demonstrate effective event planning and assertive leadership  with the goal of developing comprehensive event budgets, promotional collateral strategies, guest lists and the coordination of leadership and staff roles to achieve effective and timely follow through on event logistics and execution.


General Fundraising & Team Related Duties:


Maintain a schedule of local and regional meetings and travel to ensure timely and attentive follow-up.


Develop, oversee and track & monitor progress for annual fund, goals and budgets.


Partner with the Development Department to identify and support new funding opportunities.


Work with the Database Supervisor to develop a suite of periodic reports and metrics and analytics that supports growth within donor portfolios


Engage in quarterly revenue forecasting and regular activity review.


Actively participate and support broader development team strategy during regular team meetings.


Maintain detailed records and reporting of donor and prospect activity in Raisers Edge database.


Develop strong working relationships with all internal and external stakeholders.


Recruit, train and support all aspects of performance of the annual giving and events team


Provide strong and supportive leadership to the annual giving and events team


In partnership with the Development Department and Finance Director, ensure adherence to gift acceptance, gift counting and gift processing policies and procedures and to fulfill information requests and maintain reporting accuracy.

REQUIRED SKILLS

Familiarity with RaisersEdge or similar database


Ability to problem solve and think creatively, strong collaboration and team building skills required


Proven organization and administrative abilities, with meticulous attention to detail


EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS


Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required.


Minimum 5 years of Development experience including demonstrated success in individual giving, corporate sponsorship, special events fundraising and management.


Experience with moves management including, but not limited to, prospect identification, wealth screening, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship.


Applicants fluent in Spanish will be prioritized.


At least 2 years of relevant experience managing a team.


Computer proficiency and practical experience in word processing, database and internet navigation.
