About
Be the change you want to see in your local government. It begins with you!
Every local community needs a core group of caring, engaged citizens who will tackle the most challenging issues in their community and the state. L3 prepares individuals for board and commission service, conducting effective community advocacy, stewarding critical local issues, managing coalitions, and running for office.
Do you enjoy learning “how things work” from water management and the city budget, to affordable housing and downtown revitalization? Do you want to sharpen your leadership skills? In L3, you’ll gain broad-based knowledge in many areas of public policy, in addition to everything you’ll need to know in order to successfully navigate all areas of public advocacy.
L3 is a six-month program, one Friday a month from January through June, where students learn how to run a local campaign while also learning about the major public policy issues facing Northern Colorado and Central Rockies areas. Keep in mind that there is no “credential” barrier to entry in politics. All it takes is a willingness to learn how local government works and a desire to get involved.
