Nonprofit Learning Series - Moving Forward: A Deeper Dive into Action Plans for Nonprofit Organizations

We're thrilled to extend an invitation for a Nonprofit Learning Series follow-up session of our recent strategic planning workshop. The upcoming session, scheduled to occur one month from our initial workshop, will be a pivotal moment as you assess your progress and shape your future actions. The feedback and insights gained from the first workshop were invaluable, and it's time to reconvene to monitor the progress and fine-tune your trajectory.

 

Our previous meeting allowed us to lay a strong foundation, robust with innovative ideas and time bound goals. This follow-up workshop serves to review the actions implemented in response to our discussions. We'll assess the effectiveness of these strategies, the challenges faced, and the successes celebrated.

 

In this rapidly changing landscape, it is important to address uncertainties. Considering this, a key part of our gathering will be dedicated to contingency planning. Here, we will discuss strategies on navigating unexpected hurdles, such as the potential reduction or discontinuation of funding from a grant or a major donor, or shifts and reductions in staff and capacity.


This session will review identified contingencies and how you adapted to them, as well as focus on organizational sustainability and sustaining the mission, vision, and strategic plan. It's crucial that you tackle any financial uncertainties and institutionalize a sustainable solution that keeps the core work towards your mission intact. This process requires you to continuously track the potential discontinuation or reduction of funds from grants or major donors, and build in succession and redundancy plans to sustain the work through staff changes and transitions. 


This date is part 2 of a 2-part program facilitated by April-Dawn Knudsen of Knudsen Coaching & Consulting. Part 1, Blueprint for Change: Strategic Planning Workshop for Nonprofits, was held on February 5th.


We encourage attendance from nonprofit leadership teams, as well as programs and operations staff who could benefit from learning more about strategic planning and advancing their overall professional development.
